Everglades National Park Desalination
In 2006 the U.S. Park Service constructed the Flamingo Water Treatment Plant to supply water to over one million annual visitors. The installed desalination system includes two Eden Excel filter vessels for prefiltration to remove harmful sand, organic matter and other solids from source water.
Each vessel contains ten 40-inch cartridge filters rated for continuous service at 150 psi and 200 gpm. The Eden Excel vessels continue to operate without issue, needing only routine filter cartridge changes through more than fifteen years of trouble-free, low-impact operation.
High-capacity FRP prefiltration protects downstream desalination equipment in demanding municipal and remote-site applications where reliability and service life are essential.
