About the role
Eden Equipment is a stable, privately held manufacturer with 48 years of experience producing mission-critical engineered filtration and pressure equipment. We are seeking a hands-on mechanical engineer to lead plant operations, strengthen lean manufacturing practices and develop our team.
The Plant Manager oversees operations, the facility and safety at a single-shift plant with fewer than 50 team members. Recent investments in tooling, molds, information technology and machinery create an opportunity to improve performance, profitability and our ability to grow.
Responsibilities
- Remove bottlenecks, improve throughput and lead times, and reduce waste and costs.
- Build repeatable, data-driven operating practices that improve shop efficiency, equipment uptime and organization.
- Plan capital investments and evaluate their return on investment.
- Recruit, train, schedule and mentor production and logistics teams.
- Communicate in English and Spanish across the shop floor and management, and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Human Resources.
- Maintain the ISO 9001 quality management system, improve first-pass conformance and promote OSHA best practices and audit readiness.
- Manage performance measures and objectives for safety, quality, on-time delivery and profitability.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing/Production Engineering with strong mechanical fundamentals.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
- At least five years of progressive operations or manufacturing engineering management experience with engineered, multi-SKU products.
- Demonstrated success hiring, training and retaining high-performing teams with low turnover.
- Experience maintaining ISO 9001 and using ERP/MRP systems daily; NetSuite is preferred.
- Understanding of plant financials and a record of reducing costs and waste while improving throughput.
Preferred qualifications
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent experience.
- CAD/PDM experience, including SolidWorks or Vault.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
Work environment and physical requirements
This position is fully on-site, with no remote option. It requires standing and walking through the plant during an eight-hour shift and occasionally lifting 10–50 pounds. The shop is climate-conditioned and includes active machinery, power tools, compressors and material-handling equipment; standard safety practices apply.
